As an Electrical Fitter Mechanic (EFM), you will be responsible for developing and maintaining electricity infrastructure. On a day-to-day basis EFMs construct, repair and maintain overhead, underground and substation power supply equipment.
An EFM holds the same qualification as a household electrician. However, ENERGEX’s electricians don’t wire houses or buildings – they wire substations.
The EFM is a very technical role and is suited to people who enjoy problem solving.
An EFM typically performs the following tasks:
- Maintaining and building substations;
- Emergency repair work;
- Investigating power supply problems; and
- Connecting customers.
